Your information

Privacy Policy

Bad Caddie is designed to keep your player profile, location history, scores and course mappings on your own devices.

Effective 7 September 2026

No accountNo registration or Bad Caddie account is required.
No trackingNo advertising, analytics or cross-app tracking.
Local golf dataRounds and personal course mappings stay on your devices unless you export them.

Information Bad Caddie uses

Bad Caddie uses location supplied by iPhone or Apple Watch to calculate golf yardages, record shot positions and map tees, pins, fairway points and hazards. Location is processed for the app’s features and stored as part of your local round or personal course data. The developer does not receive it.

Player, bag and round information

The app stores the details you enter, including player name, gender, proficiency, handicap, preferred tees, bag contents, club-distance estimates, playing conditions, scores, putts, penalties and shot history. This information is stored locally and is used to provide scoring, analysis and club suggestions.

Scorecard photographs and text recognition

If you choose to import a scorecard photograph, Apple’s Vision framework processes the image on your device to recognise hole, yardage, par and stroke-index information. Bad Caddie does not upload the photograph to the developer.

Apple Watch synchronisation

When the companion Watch app is used, current-round information is transferred directly between the paired iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework.

Apple Intelligence

On supported devices, you may choose to use Apple Intelligence to generate caddie remarks. This feature uses Apple’s on-device Foundation Models framework. Bad Caddie does not send your round data to the developer for artificial-intelligence processing.

Course search services

Course-name searches are sent to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service. Requests for mapped course features are sent to public Overpass API services. These requests contain the search term or public course location needed to return course data; they do not contain your Bad Caddie player profile or round history. Like other internet services, their operators may receive standard connection information such as an IP address and apply their own privacy policies.

Imports, exports and sharing

Import and export actions occur only when you choose them. Exported round files can contain scores, clubs, shot positions and other round information. Exported personal course files can contain locations you mapped. Once you share an exported file, its handling is controlled by the destination you selected.

Data collection and advertising

Acornwolf does not operate a Bad Caddie account service and does not collect your personal profile, precise location, scorecards, shot history or course mappings. The app contains no advertising, third-party analytics SDK or cross-app tracking.

In-app purchases

Lifetime Unlock purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Bad Caddie receives purchase entitlement information from StoreKit but does not receive your payment-card details.

Data retention and deletion

Bad Caddie data remains on your devices until you remove it using the app’s controls or delete the app and its data. Files you have exported must be deleted separately from wherever you saved or shared them.

Children’s privacy

Bad Caddie does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.

Changes to this policy

If Bad Caddie’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated before the relevant app version is released.
